Richie is the Global Head of Operations for PIDG, leading the group operations function. He is a member of the Executive team and responsible for IT, Procurement, Facilities and Business Transformation. Richie joined PIDG in March 2023, initially as the Head of Operations for PIDG Limited before being promoted to Global Head of Operations. Over a 30-year career, Richie has garnered extensive experience in operations, business and people strategy, team leadership, technology change and directing business transformation within Defence and professional services.
Richie began his career in the British Army, where he served for 22 years, primarily in Operations leadership roles. He has operational tours in Sierra Leone, Kosovo and Afghanistan (twice) under his belt. During his first tour of Afghanistan, in Kabul in 2002, he was the Operations Director for British Forces, overseeing logistics and engineer resources and spent much of the deployment involved in capacity building and infrastructure development activities, such as restoring power, improving sanitation and the construction of schools. His last four years in the Army were focused on transformation in the Ministry of Defence and Army Head Office, leading target operating model, organisational change and operational efficiency programmes alongside the commercial outsourcing of Defence Infrastructure and Services to the private sector.
Since his departure from the Army in 2014, Richie has been leading transformation teams and activities in the legal sector. This has centred on business modernisation, by leveraging technology and new ways of working to improve productivity and the end user experience. He holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration and various Project Management qualifications, including PRINCE2 and APM Practitioner.
