Yukiko is the Chair of PIDG, leading its strategic direction, and also serves as the Chair of the Nomination, Governance, and Remuneration Committee. She is also a Non-Executive Director of the Boards of HSBC Bank Plc., Assured Guaranty Ltd., and Wismettac Nishimoto HD Co Ltd., and a member of the Advisory Board of The Critical Minerals Fund. Prior to that she was Senior Independent Director of PIDG, Chair of GuarantCo (a PIDG company) and on the Supervisory Board and Advisory Board of Amatheon Agri Holding N.V. and CG/LA Infrastructure.
Yukiko has more than 45 years of international professional experience in both the public and private financial sector. She was formerly the Under-Secretary General and COO and vice president at the International Fund for Agricultural Development. Prior to that, she was executive vice president / CEO of the Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency of the World Bank Group. She started her career with the Inter-American Development Bank in Washington DC in the infrastructure department. She then went to work at various investment banks such as J.P. Morgan, Lehman Brothers, UBS and Dresdner Bank in Tokyo, London and New York. She has strong experience in restructuring organisations and bringing change to meet the needs of changing market or other conditions. She has keen interest in ensuring sustainable development and Climate change issues.
Born in Paris, Yukiko was educated in Japan, the United Kingdom, the Philippines, Switzerland and the United States. She has a Bachelors degree in Economics from London University and a Masters degree in Development Economics and a second Masters degree in Political Economics from Boston University. She received a special award for distinguished career from Boston University in May of 2015 and a Lifetime award for supporting infrastructure from CG/LA Infrastructure in 2008.
