Emily Wood is the Global PIDG Group Head HSES. She joined PIDG in April 2019 supporting the HSES team provide social performance and safeguarding support across the group. She has over 25 years’ experience in environmental and social risk management across the energy and infrastructure sector. Alongside the HSES team she is here to support keeping PIDG people safe, keeping health and safety central to all that we do, and to provide the HSES support across the Group to implement our strategy. She has a broad and diverse range of project and community-based experience across UK, Eastern Europe and Africa, working across a range of public, private and financial institutions including as an Independent Environmental and Social Consultant for IFC and World Bank funded projects. She holds a BSc and PhD in environmental chemistry from the University of North Wales. She is an ISO lead auditor, trained prevention of sexual exploitation and abuse (PSEA) investigator and an ILO gender audit facilitator.
