Vacancies within PIDG

Health, Safety, Environmental and Social Director

The Private Infrastructure Development Group Ltd (PIDG) is seeking to appoint a Health, Safety, Environmental & Social (HSES) Director. In 2017 PIDG implemented a new governance structure; embedding collaborative working between its companies and creating a single board and committee structure to oversee group-wide investment and development decisions. As a member of the senior executive team, the HSES Director will help guide and implement PIDG’s strategy in relation to HSES matters and drive the PIDG organisation forward.

PIDG is seeking a professional with deep and relevant experience in Health, Safety, Environmental & Social Management Systems. This individual will be responsible for the implementation and oversight of management systems and the subsequent interpretation of data and continuous improvement across the group. This is a critical appointment for PIDG and the work of the appointed candidate will play a key part in shaping PIDG’s future operations, direction, growth and success.      A track record of delivery in an environment of change will be distinctly advantageous for this role as will the ability to create frameworks from scratch. Strong evidence of leadership credentials will also be critical.  The HSES Director will be a member of the Executive Team, with a right of independent access to the Board.

Applicants for the role will need a mix of required and desirable experience including a mix of front line, operational and corporate experience of applying HSES Management Systems, Incident Investigation and management of change. They will have held senior operational roles with HSES responsibilities within an international business. They will have had significant exposure to African and Asian operations and an in-depth awareness of the IFC Performance Standards or other Multilateral Financial Institutions Safeguards. They will also have had experience of major capital projects (>$30 million) from concept through to operation.

This is an exciting opportunity to have a major impact on an organization going through significant change and growth. Last year PIDG supported access to life-changing infrastructure designed to boost economies and combat poverty for 9.2 million people.
