Chair

The Private Infrastructure Development Group is chaired by Andrew Bainbridge

Andrew Bainbridge is the Private Infrastructure Development Group Chair. He is also the Chair of PIDG company Infrastructure Crisis Facility Debt Pool and previously of GuarantCo.

Andrew is experienced in emerging and developed markets, infrastructure financing and development, risk management, commercial banking and business strategy, and acquisitions and disposals. He has also been a non executive director for more than 10 years.

Outside PIDG, Andrew is the group chief executive officer at SBM Holdings. Prior to that he was global head of commercial clients and chief risk officer for Standard Chartered's western hemisphere, Barclays’ emerging markets chief operating officer and the chief executive officer at BMI Bank.

Andrew is a fellow of the Institute of Financial Services and of the Institute of Directors Southern Africa.

He holds a degree in law from the University of Nottingham.
